The MHD Flasher F & G Series is a complete ECU flash tuning solution designed for BMW B58-powered vehicles as well as the Toyota Supra A90. Unlike traditional piggyback modules, this system enables full DME (ECU) remapping while retaining all OEM safety mechanisms. This ensures increased power, improved efficiency, and smooth drivability without compromising engine protection.

The MHD platform can be installed using a compatible smartphone, allowing convenient setup via the vehicle’s OBD-II port. Simply download the MHD Flasher F+G Series app, connect using the MHD Wireless Adapter to your iOS or Android device, and begin the setup process. The initial installation typically completes in around 5 minutes, while subsequent map changes take as little as 30 seconds. The vehicle can also be reverted back to the original factory software at any time, with no initial backup required.

The Super Licence provides all available MHD functionality along with MHD+ custom code in one complete package (Flasher, Monitor and all OTS map packs included).

Flasher License:
The Flasher License enables full ECU flashing capabilities using the MHD platform, including OTS maps, JB4 backend maps, and custom tuning files.

Features:

  1. Extremely fast flashing times when used with the MHD WiFi Adapter (approx. 2–3.5 minutes initial flash, 10–19 seconds for map switching)
  2. Stage 0 factory calibration (with optional adjustments available)
  3. Read and clear engine fault codes, plus adaptation reset

MHD+:
MHD+ unlocks advanced custom code and extended tuning capabilities.

  1. On-the-Fly Map Switching:
    Allows up to 4 selectable map slots within the same stage, enabling quick switching between different fuel qualities such as pump fuel or ethanol blends (e.g. E30). Each map slot can also be configured with adjustable power output, making it ideal for reduced power or valet-style driving. Power can be reduced from 100% down to 60% in 5% increments.
  2. Antilag:
    Enables rapid boost build-up prior to acceleration while limiting vehicle movement. Activation is controlled via cruise control inputs (RES button or speed down on B58 GEN2) combined with throttle application. The system dynamically adjusts engine calibration to build boost quickly. Built-in safety strategies include coolant and EGT monitoring, maximum duration limits, and cooldown periods. Users can also adjust boost targets depending on their setup.
  3. Switchable Burble per Map Slot:
    Allows individual configuration of exhaust burble characteristics for each map slot.
  4. Cold Start per Map Slot:
    Provides the ability to configure cold start behaviour independently for each map.
  5. On-The-Fly Exhaust Flap Control:
    Control exhaust valve operation with options for always open, always closed (opens under load), or OEM behaviour.
  6. Ethanol Content Quick View:
    Displays real-time ethanol content via the MHD+ live menu when used with a compatible sensor.
  7. Motiv ReFlex Integration:
    Full CANBUS integration enables advanced functionality such as DME limp mode activation in case of injector errors and control of external wastegates. Both B58 GEN1 and GEN2 support advanced ReFlex integration, allowing full control of supplemental port injection and auxiliary outputs such as WGDC, additional fuel pumps, and nitrous systems. Once the ReFlex firmware is updated to an MHD+ compatible version, all tuning adjustments can be managed directly through the DME. New to GEN1 (GEN2 coming soon), ReFlex integration has been expanded further to support dual EGT sensors and an additional auxiliary pressure sensor for monitoring coolant, crankcase, or EGBP pressure. Custom safety strategies have also been introduced, capable of reacting within milliseconds if values exceed defined safe limits.
  1. Overrun “Brap” Sound:
    Adds a more aggressive exhaust note during throttle lift.
  2. No Lift Shift:
    Allows full-throttle gear changes on manual vehicles without lifting off the accelerator.
  3. Custom TCU Limiter Removal:
    Removes transmission torque limits while retaining OEM safety features and launch control functionality.
  4. KnockCEL:
    Allows the check engine light to flash if timing corrections exceed thresholds set by the tuner (for custom tuning applications).
  5. MHD Real-Time Tuning:
    Enables live tuning adjustments while the engine is running, allowing real-time editing of calibration tables without the need for reflashing.
  6. MHD MaxCool:
    Activates an advanced cooling strategy designed to reduce oil, coolant, and intake temperatures. Particularly useful during staging or high-performance driving, it helps reduce heat soak. How it works: The system activates the fan, lowers coolant targets to 72°C, engages the electronic thermostat, and increases water pump output for maximum cooling. Activation: While connected to the MHD WiFi Adapter, navigate to the LIVE tab, select “MHD+ Live Adjust” and enable Max Cooling. The system remains active until manually disabled or the engine is switched off.

Monitor License:
Monitor engine performance in real time using a configurable interface with up to 8 gauges displayed simultaneously. Over 50 engine parameters can be viewed and logged in the background. Data can be saved as CSV files for later analysis using the built-in log viewer. Log analysis support is also available.

Available parameters include:
Boost, boost target, AFR (lambda), intake air temperature, ignition timing per cylinder, coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, transmission temperature, HPFP, throttle position, wastegate duty cycle, RPM, speed, EGT and more. Advanced parameters such as timing corrections, boost setpoints, and torque limits may also be available depending on ECU software.

Full TCU Logging on B58 GEN2 cars:
Advanced 8HP transmission logging allows monitoring of clutch states, solenoid currents (pressure), torque converter slip, clutch slip percentages, and more. This data is essential for diagnosing transmission behaviour and optimising performance. TCU logging operates alongside DME logging.

All MHD OTS maps by PureBoost:
A wide selection of OTS maps is included for B58 engines across different setups and fuel types. These maps have been extensively tested under real-world and dyno conditions.

DME Unlock Requirements:
B58 GEN1 (USA) vehicles produced before 06/2020 with updated software may require a DME bench unlock to enable OBD flashing. This can be checked using the “Unlock Check” feature within the MHD app.

B58 GEN2 vehicles produced before 06/2020 require a DME bench unlock to enable OBD flashing.

Vehicles produced after 06/2020 are equipped with enhanced tuning protection and require a specialised unlock. In these cases, the DME must be sent to FEMTO or AutoTuner.

Once unlocked, MHD will automatically detect the DME. A full unlock via FEMTO or AutoTuner is recommended for full MHD+ functionality. Unlock services are available for both USA and EU vehicles.
